When we got back we got the news that one of our friends Amiee had to leave. Her knee started bothering her a few days ago, she got back from a doc and was told she needed an MRI and to stay off of it for 6 weeks. I really feel bad for her. I know I am blessed that my aches and pains are little and are not stopping me from finishing these three weeks. The classes get smaller towards the end of the weeks because people are really hurting. It is tough, our NBA player packed his bags Sunday and headed out-he couldn't take it anymore.
There was a serious kitchen issue this morning, and some of us didn't get breakfast until it was time to go on the hike, which made all hikes start late and they returned late. Needless to say I didn't make it to my next class at 11:15-I was also having a little episode-I started getting the shakes I was so cold that in the sun with jacket i couldn't wake up. I laid in bed dressed for about 30 minutes under covers, but couldn't warm up. At lunch we had a carrot soup, and that coupled with hot tea, got me a little warmer.
Right after lunch I had signed up for kickboxing (this is the extra cardio class second weekers have to do), while Regina had her lecture. I knew I was in trouble when only 2 others showed up to class. So what happens when there is practically a one on one....yeah and that is what she did...she kicked our...needless to say I was not cold anymore. This class was followed by treading-5 min at the hardest interval you can go, with a 5 min recovery, then 4 min all the way down to 30 sec.I got 4 sprints in at the end of each interval, with the highest going to 9.4. Then it was off to the pool. I have to admit I didn't give it my all. We had to pass "wilson" around while treating water in the deep end. Wilson is a medicin ball. The other 3 stations weren't bad. This was much easier than the pool class yesterday where we had to be "dolphins", we had to dive down, come up for one breath then dive down until we got to the other side of the pool and back and forth for five min. Anyway after pool was ball works. She made this one tough and even though I thought I had nothing to give she made us power it out.
Now I just finished dinner and will get ready for bed so I can do it again tomorrow. I am seriously scared of the hike tomorrow, but I will make it through.
Wow, Beate--you're amazing. I would've needed a nap after that hike. That's awesome that you're doing what an NBA player can't do! Keep it up. You'll be at the end before you know it.
ReplyDeleteEmily as hard as you work at bootcamp you could do this too!
