Hump day exists here in Malibu too. However as much as we are happy about it at home, here it represents more a "hard" day to come.
It started off at the hike. I was sitting very happy in the Van I was assigned to this week, when Dorothy one of the guides came and pulled me out and send me to TJ (hiking manager). TJ proceeded to tell me that I continue being a problem for her (you love these kind words in the morning) and you are going up two more vans (which happen to go to beach work out YEAH). Julie Van 5 was ok with me but really! Tonja one of the trainers was with us and she is relentless. She was all proud of the fact that I was doing jumping jacks well in the deep sand, so she came in front of me and "encouraged" me not to stop for the minute, my legs were burning. When I asked her if she didn't have others to watch, she decided to stay with me for the one minute sand burpees as well. Yes I felt very special this morning. Back in the van I realized cutting out the snack this morning was down right stupid....oh well.
And then I cam back to a very nice surprise!!!! Thank you Laura, that was such a motivator!!!!!I was so excited and was able to use that energy to make it through the day.
The rest of the day was a pool class, followed by lunch, then "my extra cardio a day class-I ran on the treadmill. Then another pool class (yes changing bathing suits twice under time constraints-15 min- is not fun). The last two classes were a kickboxing class followed by 'mountain" another cardio class. You think there is nothing else your body has to give, but then you find out your body can do it.You really have to take it one class at a time. If you want the most out of it, you have to give it your all in each class and not think about the next class at all. And then suddenly the day is done. There is certainly very little time to contemplate anything.
Food wise the day was good. Breakfast was home made granola which is awesome, its served with almond milk. I really liked lunch as well, salmon, quinoa with cranberry's and zucchini. Dinner I asked for the tuna substitution. That was very good, it is made with celery and vegenaise (whole foods has it for sure).
At the end of the day I had my consultation (30 min offered free to every guest) with the local dietitian. He really likes my plan from home it is very similar to what we eat here. He reiterated that its 90% nutrition, 10% exercise!!!!!He feels that if I continued to eat the plan they serve, and exercise 6 times 1 hour a week I would have a nice weight loss at home as well. Laura he will work with us and try to build in wine time lol.
Going to bed soon.....same old thing.....can't stay awake!
YES,THAT'S WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT, I love that dietician already.
